How do I know which currency I need?

Before visiting a currency exchange office, it is advisable to check which currency is accepted in the country concerned. While the euro may seem like a convenient option in many cases, several countries have their own national currency.

What is the maximum amount that can be exchanged in a single transaction?

There is no statutory limit on the amount that can be exchanged; however, for transactions exceeding HUF 3,000,000, we recommend arranging the exchange in advance.

For transactions of HUF 10,000,000 or more, a document confirming the source of funds and approval from MBH Bank are required. To ensure faster processing, please contact us in advance on +36 70 451 9500.

What documents are required when exchanging currency?

In the case of Hungarian citizens:

  • - Hungarian identity card together with an official certificate of address (address card)

Is it possible to exchange coins at Correct Change currency exchange offices?

At Correct Change offices, we are only able to exchange banknotes. The only exceptions are Hungarian forint coins and €1 and €2 euro coins.

How much does currency exchange cost?

At our Central Office on József Boulevard, a handling fee of 0.9% is applied, capped at a maximum of HUF 34,900.

Different fees may apply at certain currency exchange offices; therefore, we recommend checking the relevant subpage of the specific office in advance.

Is it possible to pay by bank card?

Due to the increase in customer traffic, the number of clients requesting POS services has also grown. We therefore plan to introduce this service in the near future.

How can a preferential exchange rate be requested? What are the conditions?

A preferential exchange rate can be requested exclusively in person at the time of the transaction, provided that the amount to be exchanged is at least HUF 400,000.
